those words are on one of the walls at my school…

My life is generally measured in hours, I serve to be devoured. Thin, i am quick. Fat, i am slow. Wind is my foe, what am I?

just-say-fuck-off-and-smile:

I notice everything. And by everything, I literally mean everything. I notice when someone stops hitting me up like they used to. I notice when the way someone talks to me starts changing. I notice the little things that people do, and the little things they used to do. I notice when things change, and when it’s no longer the same. I notice every single little detail. I just don’t say anything.

longhighway:

I AM REALLY UPSET BECAUSE NOBODY IS KISSING ME OR GOING OUT WITH ME OR CRUSHING ON ME EVERYONE ELSE HAS A PERSON WHERE IS MY PERSON WHY DONT I GET A FRICKIN PERSON

I am surrounded by people who used to say that rhyme about sticks and stones, as if broken bones hurt more than the names we got called, and we got called them all. So we grew up believing that no one would ever fall in love with us, that we would be lonely forever, and we tried to empty ourselves so we would feel nothing. Don’t tell me that hurts less than a broken bone. To this day, kids are still being called names. Seems like every school has an arsenal of names getting updated every year and yeah, some of us fell. If you can’t see anything beautiful about yourself, get a better mirror. Look a little closer, stare a little longer. Because there’s something inside you that made you keep trying, despite everyone who told you to quit. You built a cast around your broken heart and signed it yourself. You signed it, “They were wrong!” You have to believe that they were wrong. They have to be wrong! Why else would we still be here? We grew up learning to cheer on the underdog because we see ourselves in them. The voices cry out, ‘Names will never hurt me.” Of course they did. But our lives will always ever continue to be a balancing act that has less to do with pain, and more to do with beauty.
